MORRILL- Following two consecutive winless seasons for the Morrill Lions, the team enters 2024 with a new, yet familiar face leading the program.

The Lions are now back under the leadership of head coach Tom Peacock. Peacock returns to the Morrill football program after previously leading the team during two previous stints from 2001-2010 and again from 2012-2016. He helped lead the Lions to the school’s only football playoff win in 2005, a 24-18 2OT win over Perkins County.

Morrill lost eight seniors from last season’s team and had 12 players on the field for Monday’s practice. However, the Lions are optimistic about getting more players on the practice field after school starts on Wednesday.

Morrill’s quest for the team’s first win since 2021 begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 30 on the road against Bayard. You can catch that game beginning with pregame at 6:45 p.m. on 94.1 The Brand.
