Man Nabbed in Large Kimball County Drug Bust Avoids Prison

No prison time for a California man caught with more than 37 pounds of pot, a pound of mushrooms and a loaded handgun following a 2021 traffic stop in Kimball County.

In March, a jury found 25-year-old Andrew Mendoza guilty on charges of: Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver with Possession of a Firearm; Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms with Intent to Deliver with Possession of a Firearm; and No Drug Tax Stamp.

Yesterday, District Judge Derek Weimer Sentenced Mendoza to 36 months of Intensive Supervised Probation and a fine of $5,000, in addition to the 11 days jail he had already served.

The co-defendant in this case, 22-year-old Myra Williamson- is scheduled to be back in court on June 25th for a hearing.
