The Scottsbluff and Gering Kiwanis Clubs recently announced the scholarship awardees from area high schools in the county.
A large group of eight of the scholarship winners were treated to lunch at the weekly Scottsbluff Kiwanis Club this past Thursday, and in all, 13 awards for high school seniors headed off to post-secondary education were given.
Volunteer fundraising efforts such as the Kiwanis Christmas Tree Lot and Crabby Tax Night help provide funding that goes toward the scholarship programs.
