Gering PVC’s season ends in B7 tournament, Alliance plays today.

GERING- Gering Platte Valley Companies saw their season come to an end Sunday afternoon at the hands of Auburn, 9-2.

Auburn pitcher Travon Shaw went the distance. Allowing only two runs on two hits and two walks in his seven-inning complete game performance. Both of those runs for Gering came in the sixth inning as Jackson Howard came home to score on a fielding error by Auburn off the bat of Bo Gable, followed by Gable scoring on an RBI base hit by Che Molina.

Gable got the start for Gering and went five innings while allowing seven runs, four earned, on seven hits and six walks while striking out four Auburn batters. Molina appeared in relief and went an inning allowing two runs on three hits.

Gering wraps up their season with a record of 27-8.

Auburn now advances to take on Alliance at 3 p.m. today (Monday) with a trip to the championship game against Ogallala on the line for tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) at 3 p.m. Ogallala defeated Chadron, 9-1, on Sunday to advance. While Alliance’s last game was on Saturday against Auburn where they won, 15-10.
