BRIDGEPORT- The Bridgeport Bulldogs are back and ready to capitalize on the momentum of a 7-3 season a year ago. A fall where the Bulldogs picked up their first playoff win since 1999.

The Bulldogs graduated a class of five seniors, which included an 1,800-yard rusher in Peyton Abbott. However, the key to Bridgeport’s success may have been their young core, which returns junior quarterback Nik Weibert, their lead receiver in junior Gage Nein and lead sack man Landon Dean. The Bulldogs also now have junior Logan Levick in the mix as well. Levick tallied 447 receiving yards last season as a sophomore at Garden County.

The Bulldogs will compete in the D1-10 district alongside Hemingford, Kimball, Morrill, Perkins County and Sutherland.

Bridgeport opens their season at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 30 on the road against North Platte Saint Patrick’s.
