HARRISBURG- Banner County has announced they will be forfeiting the remainder of their football season in a press release issued Monday.
The release reads as follows:
” Due to our inability to safely field a team, we have made the decision to forfeit the remainder of the varsity football season. This was a difficult decision made after careful consideration. We thank our student athletes and coaches for their efforts and community for their support of Banner County football”
This season marked the fifth year that Banner County was able to field a football team after co-oping with Leyton for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Prior to that, Banner County forfeited the entire 2017 season.
Banner County was 0-5 and previously announced the game against Potter-Dix scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11 would be forfeited earlier this week due to low numbers. This announcement forfeits the remaining two games on the schedule against Garden County and Leyton.
