Rose was born May 22, 1937, in Lexington, Nebraska to Becente Granillo and Mercedes Amigo. Her childhood was spent helping her parents with family chores and other responsibilities that came with a large family during those times. Rose’s teenage years were cut short when at age 15 she met and married the love of her life, Frank Hernandez. She became the proud mother of eight children.

Rose held numerous jobs to make ends meet including sewing, popcorn making, and working for a mortgage company. She also worked as a house keeper for some time. The most notable and rewarding of all though, was her work as an in-home daycare provider. Rose became certified through state of Nebraska and provided childcare for 54 years before retiring. She then continued her caregiving abilities as stay at home grandmother, great-grandmother, and recently a great-great grandmother. She loved the kids she babysat over the years and considered them all her family. She maintained many close relationships with several of them even up to her final weeks on Earth.

She was member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rose enjoyed sewing, doing yard work, and staying active while playing kickball and baseball with her grandkids. She also liked coloring, gardening, and dancing. Rose had the most loving and caring personality ever.

Survivors include her daughters, Ramona (Richard) Garcia of Gering, Denise Hernandez of Lincoln, and Cynthia Hernandez of Scottsbluff; sons, Frank (Sharon) Hernandez of Scottsbluff, Vicente Hernandez of Scottsbluff, and Lorenzo (Carrie) Hernandez of Lincoln; stepson, Arthur (Kay) Hernandez of Omaha; 27 grandkids; 60 great-grandkids; and 9 great-great grandkids; numerous nieces and nephews; all of her beloved daycare kids; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Hernandez; fourteen brothers and sisters; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; sons, Fancito and Lorenzo Hernandez; grandson, Robert Hernandez; granddaughters, Britanny and Alexis Hernandez; and great-great grandsons, Christopher Hernandez, Isaac Ozuna, David Billie, and Keanu Solache.
