Mike dedicated his life to his family, community, and profession. Simply put, to know Mike was to love him. As a young man, Mike was a star athlete, excelling in both basketball and football. His talent and dedication on the field and court earned him a walk-on position with the Nebraska Husker Football team, a dream for many. However, Mike chose to pursue his passion for basketball, playing for Western Nebraska Community College.

Among his many jobs over his lifetime, Mike spent 18 years working on the Burlington Northern Railroad before pursuing a new career in radiology. His passion for helping others led him to Regional West Medical Center, where he served as a Radiology Technologist. Mike’s commitment to excellence in his field extended to his service on the Nebraska State Board of Radiologic Technologists, where he played a significant role in shaping the profession.

Outside of his professional life, Mike was known for his love of golf, going to the YMCA, and as a hopeless Husker fan.

Above all else, Mike was dedicated to his family. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He loved traveling and spending time at home with his wife Jeanette. He was deeply involved in his children’s lives. He coached just about every sports team on which they played and loved taking them on camping trips and tubing adventures at the lake. His family fondly remembers him for his humor, support, and wise advice. Mike’s legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife Jeanette McFeely; daughter Paige (Randall) Purdy; son Shane (Amy) McFeely; and granddaughter Nora McFeely. He is also survived by his sister, Chris (Mark) Burbach and his nephews Matt and Mason (Mindy) Burbach.

Mike is preceded in death by his triplet daughters Ann, Bea, and Chelsey McFeely and parents Leo and Beth McFeely.

Mike was larger than life in both size and in spirit. He and his deep radio voice will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His warmth, dedication, and love for life have left an enduring mark on his loved ones and the Scottsbluff community.
