Loretta E. Larson, age 93, of Potter, passed away in Sterling, CO on Sunday, March 19, 2023. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE with Pastor Corey Jenkins officiating.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-6:00 P.M. to sign Loretta’s book. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Loretta’s care and funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Loretta’s name to the Methodist Women in Mission, Faith Methodist Church in Sidney.
Loretta Etta Larson (Fischer), the 2th child of Minnie Hecker and George Fischer was born in Peetz, CO, on October 17, 1929. She grew up on the farm her father homesteaded outside of Peetz.
On October 1, 1947, Loretta was united in marriage to Donald C. Larson at the United Methodist Church in Sidney. To this union two children were born, son Terry Donald and daughter, Peggy Ann.
Loretta was a homemaker, enjoyed gardening, sewing and baked and decorated scores of wedding and all occasion cakes. After 40 plus years of spending cold winters on the farm, Loretta and Donald wintered in Fountain Hills, AZ for 20 plus years.
Survivors include: (1) son: Terry of Potter, (1) daughter: Peggy Makey and husband Gerry of Severance, CO., as well as numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents and 2 half-brothers, Ervin Fischer and Robert Fischer, 1 sister Clara Mueller and numerous extended family members.
