The Gators then won the Wayne Tournament on Saturday, winning 2-1 over the host Blue Devils, and 2-0 over CWC and Summerland.

Jeff’s Wisner-Pilger Double Triangular Preview:

Wisner-Pilger (7-11) hosts Howells-Dodge (10-5) and Lyons-Decatur Northeast (5-11) in a Double Triangular Tuesday night. The Jaguars swept Pender and Cedar Bluffs 2-0 at their Home Triangular Thursday night while the Cougars beat Winnebago 2-0, but lost 2-0 to Tri County Northeast at the Winnebago Triangular Thursday night.

Jeff’s Take on the Matches:

These could be a couple of really interesting matches for the Gators, especially the Howells-Dodge match. 7-11 and 10-5 looks like a mismatch on paper, but I really think Wisner-Pilger might have gotten their season on track and gotten back to their old form after winning the Wayne Tournament. There was a big difference in their play on Saturday than in any matches prior, and so perhaps the Gators will get going now. Wisner-Pilger should beat the Cougars, but the Jaguars are still going to be very tough.
