West Point Juniors Open State Tournament with Big Win Over Waterloo-Valley

The West Point Post 70 Junior Legion baseball team opened the Class B State Tournament with a 9-0 win over Waterloo-Valley Post 58 on Saturday night in Valley, in action aired on 107.9 The Bull.

West Point started the scoring by plating two runs in the top of the sixth inning, and added five runs in the fourth and two more runs in the sixth.

The game ended in a 9-0 score after the sixth inning due to the mercy rule.

West Point tallied 11 hits in the game. Elliot Reeson led the way at the plate the three base hit and three RBIs. Buck Steffen recorded an RBI double. Mav Smith, Ryder Anderson-Ray each had RBI singles. Mason Toelle had a double, single and an RBI. Isaac Guenther, Luke Guenther and Colby Anderson each recorded singles.

Colby Anderson pitch a complete game shut out, allowing three hits with one walk and five strike outs.

West Point advances to play Alliance on Sunday night at 7:00.

The game will be on The Bull.
