Wayne State suffered 4-1 and 6-0 losses to St. Cloud State in Northern Sun Conference softball played Friday afternoon at Husky Dome in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  SCSU is now 20-10 and 3-1 in the league while WSC drops to 4-24 and 0-4 in NSIC games.

The opener saw the Wildcats out-hit the host Huskies 8-7, but SCSU snapped a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning with three runs including a pair of solo homers to defeat WSC 4-1.

St. Cloud State held a 1-0 lead after three innings, but WSC tied the score in the top of the fourth as Mary Krystofiak doubled down the left field line and scored on an RBI single from Louisa Stowman.

The score remained tied at 1-1 until the Huskies posted three runs in the sixth on three hits to register the 4-1 win.

Krystofiak led the ‘Cats at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and run scored.  Stowman went 2 for 3 with a pair of singles and run batted in while Klein finished 2 for 4 with a double.

Sami Felt fired a complete game in the circle for the Wildcats, allowing four runs on seven hits in the loss.

The second game saw St. Cloud State hold the Wildcats to just three hits as the Huskies recorded a 6-0 shutout win.

SCSU scored two runs in the third for a 2-0 lead.  The Wildcats had a scoring chance in the fourth putting two runners on base but could not score.  The Huskies added two runs in the fifth and sixth innings to get the 6-0 win.

Klein had a lead off double to open the game for WSC.  Lauren Laudick doubled in the second and had a single in the fourth inning for Wayne State hits.

Starter Sophie Stuart worked the first 2 1/3 innings of the contest, charged with two runs on five hits.  Junior Grace Lucka pitched the remaining 3 2/3 innings and was charged with four runs on five hits.

Wayne State will face Minnesota Duluth Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Husky Dome in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
