FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University has officially released its 2024 Volleyball Schedule. The Warriors, who have reached the final site of the NAIA national tournament in 10 of the past 11 seasons, will be tested this upcoming season with 14 matches against teams from the tournament field from last year.
Midland will begin its season with matches against two teams that reached the final site in 2023. On Friday, August 16, the Warriors will face IU Kokomo and the reigning national champions, Indiana Wesleyan, at the IWU Invitational. Midland will wrap up its opening weekend with a match against Grace the following day.
The Warriors will host York on Tuesday, August 20 for their home opener. The match is slated for a 7:30 p.m. first serve, following the junior varsity match. The matchup will be the lone home contest before the start of conference play.
Rounding out the nonconference schedule with a pair of weekend tournaments. At the Viterbo Volleyball Classic (Aug. 23-24), the Warriors will face Viterbo (Wis.), Missouri Baptist, and Corban (Ore.) in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The next weekend, they will travel to Omaha for the Labor Day Classic (Aug. 30-31). Midland will face Northwest (Wash.), Park (Mo.), The Master’s (Calif.), and Providence (Mont.). The tournament is hosted on the College of Saint Mary (CSM) campus.
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) season gets underway in September. Midland will have road matches at CSM 9/4), Concordia (9/14), and Hastings (9/25). Home matches in the month include Mount Marty (9/11), Doane (9/21), and Dordt (9/28).
Rounding out the GPAC slate are road trips to Dakota Wesleyan (10/4), Waldorf (10/5), Mount Marty (10/16), Northwestern (10/19), and Doane (10/26). Home matches include Morningside (10/11), Briar Cliff (10/12), CSM (10/23), Hastings (10/30), and Concordia (11/5).
