UNO Volleyball falls to OU

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha volleyball took the first set against Oklahoma Saturday but was unable to hold on as the Sooners defeated the Mavericks in the following three sets in a 3-1 loss at Baxter Arena to close the MH Hospitality Omaha Challenge.

Shayla McCormick returned from injury and led Omaha with 10 kills as she closes in on becoming the 22nd member of the 1,000 kills club, currently sitting at 949 career kills. Julia Owens tallied 16 assists and five digs in the setback while Ivy Leuck recorded 17 assists and two aces.
 Omaha hit .109 against Oklahoma in four sets.

The Mavericks continue non-conference play out west with the first of three contests in California on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 9 p.m. CT at Long Beach State.
