OMAHA, Neb. – The reigning Summit League Champion Omaha Volleyball Team officially announced its full 2024 schedule on Wednesday. After an exhibition at Missouri on August 25, the season gets underway the following week with the Omaha Invite presented by Sarpy County Tourism.

The invite will take place over two days from August 30-31 and will feature matches against Wyoming, Washington State, and Houston. Immediately after this is another home tournament, the MH Hospitality Challenge (September 5-7), that sees Omaha take on Drake and Oklahoma.

Omaha’s first official road match will be the following week when the team heads out west to face Long Beach State on September 11. The California trip continues in Malibu when the Mavericks play UC Santa Barbara and Pepperdine in the Pepperdine Asics Classic (September 13-14).

The Mavericks close out their non-conference slate in a tournament at Wichita State (September 19-21), facing Northern Colorado and Cal Poly before taking on the hosts.

As for the conference schedule, Omaha starts off at home vs. North Dakota and St. Thomas in the final week of September, followed by two matches on the road at South Dakota and South Dakota State to open October.

After another home match against North Dakota State on the 12th, Omaha heads to Colorado to face Denver on the 17th. The last time these two teams met was in the Semifinals of the 2023 Summit League Championship when the Mavericks held on to win in five sets. Then it’s back home to take on Oral Roberts on October 19, followed by a rematch of the 2023 Championship Final when Kansas City comes to town on the 22nd.

The second half of the conference slate begins with three matches in a single week, starting with North Dakota and NDSU on the road and ending with a home bout with SDSU at Baxter on Halloween.

Omaha begins the final month of the regular season away at St. Thomas on November 2 and Oral Roberts on the 10th. After hosting Denver on the 14th, the Mavericks play their home finale two days later vs. South Dakota, before concluding the regular season on November 19 at Kansas City.

With the regular season complete it is off to the 2024 Summit League Championship, hosted by Kansas City from November 24-26, as Omaha looks to make it back-to-back conference titles and NCAA Tournament berths.
