Omaha, Neb.- The Omaha Mavericks clinched the conference opener sweep with a 7-0 shutout over the North Dakota State Bison. With their 14th consecutive win, the Mavericks have broken the record for longest win streak in the Division 1 era.
The Mavericks improve to a 25-7 overall record on the campaign and finish the first weekend of Summit League play 3-0.

How It Happened
– Both teams were held in a stalemate for the first four innings of the game.
– Omaha broke the stalemate in the bottom of the fifth with two runs. Ava Rongisch recorded an RBI double to center that drove in Maggie O’Brien.
– Alex Olson hit a grounder to center field to drive in Rongisch, making it 2-0.
– In the bottom of the sixth, Lynsey Tucker hit an RBI single to right field allowing Olivia Aden to score.
– Marra Cramer earned the fourth run after the third baseman overthrew the ball home.
– Sydney Ross had a sacrifice fly out to center field that drove in Tucker, making it 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth.
– Olson had a two-RBI single up the middle but on the throw home, she advanced to second, and O’Brien and Sydney Thomason scored to make it 7-0.
Game Notes
– Kamryn Meyer picked up her 14th win of the season. In the six innings pitched she threw seven strikeouts and only allowed three hits and two walks.
– Sydney Nuismer pitched the final inning where she only allowed one hit.
– Olson went 3-for-4 at-bat and recorded three RBIs.
– O’Brien went 1-for-2 at-bat, stole two bases, and scored two runs.
– Tucker had a team-high four assists.

The Mavericks will take a week off and then resume action on Tuesday, April 2 with a home game against cross-town rival Creighton.
