A two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Highways 9 and 51 sent three people to the hospital Monday afternoon.

According to a release from the Cuming County Sheriff’s Office, at around 2:20 pm, a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica driven by 19-year-old Dawson Beidler of Lake City, IA was traveling east bound on Highway 51, stopped at the stop sign on Highway 9 and then proceeded east across Highway 9, failing to yield to a north bound 2021 Ford F550, which was driven by 22-year-old Russell Raymond of North Bend.

The Ford F550 collided into the passenger side of the Pacifica.

Both drivers and a juvenile female passenger in the Pacifica were transported to Franciscan Healthcare by West Point Rescue.

Both drivers were treated and released. The female passenger was transported by helicopter to an Omaha hospital for further treatment.

The Cuming County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by West Point Fire and Rescue, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
