The Tekamah-Herman Football Team went into North Bend Friday night and left town with a 24-14 victory.

Jeff’s Game Recap:

Tekamah-Herman led 3-0 at the end of the 1st quarter before NBC won the 2nd quarter 8-7 to make it a 10-8 game at halftime. Tekamah-Herman outscored North Bend Central 14-6 in the 4th quarter. Spencer Pagels had 97 yards rushing on 16 carries, including a score. Kash Kellogg was 5-11 passing for 78 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception. Parke Loftis hauled in 2 TD passes totaling 62 yards. Alex Braniff made 13 tackles while Gabe Stock had 10. Wade Lytle and Griffin Breckenridge notched 8 apiece. Tekamah-Herman had 176 yards of total offense, including 98 rushing. Head Coach Brandon Jansen says it was a good first win.

Jansen talks about the individual performances of Pagels, Kellogg, and Loftis.

Jeff’s Yutan Preview:

Tekamah-Herman (1-4) takes on Yutan (2-3) on the road Friday night. The Chieftains won 7-6 at Fremont Bergan last week. Jansen says his team is out to prove that last week’s win was no fluke.

There’s only one thing left to do if you’re Tekamah-Herman….and that’s take the Bull by the horns.

Jeff’s Take on the Contest:

This is another opportunity for a win for the Tigers. Tekamah-Herman has knocked off Yutan a couple other times in previous years after picking up their first win of the season so I’m anxious to see if the Tigers can do it again. Tekamah-Herman really has nothing to lose the rest of the season so the Tigers have to continue go out there and lay it all out on the line and give it their all for 4 quarters. These kids have to continue to get better and continue to play hard and be physical at the point of attack.
