The Stanton Football Team won 76-24 at Elkhorn Valley Friday night.
Jeff’s Game Recap:
Barrett Wilke had 18 carries for 310 yards and three touchdowns while Becker Pohlman had 20 carries for 185 yards and 5 TD’s. Austin Claussen added a 57-yard TD run. Claussen made 9 tackles while Pohlman recorded 8. Hunter Robinette totaled 7. Stanton had 653 yards of total offense, including 615 on the ground. Head Coach David Stoddard says his team really got after it.

Jeff’s Plainview Preview:
Stanton (6-0) hosts Plainview (4-2) Friday night. The Pirates won 55-34 at home over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge last week. Stoddard says Plainview is a tough team.
Jeff’s Take on the Contest:
This should be a good game. I think the Mustangs win, but the Pirates are a good, quality team and opponent. This is the type of game and team you want to see heading into the playoffs. A win clinches the District Title for Stanton so this is kind of the last major hurdle to an undefeated regular season if you may. I look for the Mustangs to get past Plainview and finish the regular season unbeaten once again.
