The Stanton Boys Basketball Team won 51-47 at home over Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Saturday before losing 69-21 at home to Plainview Monday night, and 54-26 at Twin River Tuesday night.

The Pirates led 17-5 after one, and outscored the Mustangs 20-9 in the 2nd quarter to take a 37-14 lead into the locker room.

Plainview outscored Stanton 25-4 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 62-18 at the end of three.

The Pirates won the 4th quarter 7-3.

The Titans blanked the Mustangs 14-0 in the 1st quarter before outscoring Stanton 25-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 39-6 lead into the locker room.

Both teams scored 9 points in the 3rd quarter, and Twin River led 48-15 at the end of three.

The Mustangs won the 4th quarter 11-6.

Stanton (2-13) takes on Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family (7-7) in the first round of the East Husker Conference Tournament at Bancroft-Rosalie Saturday night.

The Bulldogs lost 47-44 at home to Oakland-Craig Tuesday night.

H/LHF beat Stanton 66-30 at home earlier this season.

The Mustangs have an uphill battle on their hands in this one that’s for sure.

Stanton has to step up and play well and give a great effort on Saturday though.

Even if the Mustangs can’t beat the Bulldogs I feel like Stanton can pick up a win in the Consolation Round.

The Mustangs can win at least a couple more games before season’s end so we’ll see what happens here the rest of the season.

Saturday’s game will tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
