Pride in Our Past, Viewing Bright Future Quilt Show

The 2024 Raffle Quilt was pieced by Les Parr, Julie Robinson and LuAnn Franzluebbers. LuAnn Franzluebbers did a fabulous job of quilting the quilt. A limited number of quilt raffle tickets will be on sale during the show for $2.00 each.
October 7th, 2024 | Prairie Piecemakers

This October, take a Trip through the Quilt Galaxy to celebrate quilting! Come to the First Lutheran Church in Fremont NE, Oct. 18-19 to view 150+ quilts and fiber arts as part of the Prairie Piecemakers 2024 Quilt Show. Doors will be open between 9 and 7 pm on Friday and from 9 to 4 pm on Saturday. Undoubtedly quilt enthusiasts will have an opportunity to view a variety of quilts from traditional to modern, made from a variety of fibers and in a variety of colors. Probably some Halloween and/or Fall quilts, too. $5 admission at the door.

While at the Quilt Show participants can enjoy a sandwich, soup and piece of homemade cheese cake at the Supernova Café.   The Guild will also have a Silent Auction and mini raffle.

Leslie Parr, this year’s featured quilter, who began quilting in mid-80’s after extensive experience with garment construction that began as a 4-H member. Les began cutting templates, hand piecing and hand quilting. In 1995, she learned to use rulers, rotary cutters, and chain piecing. Leslie discovered the Yellow Brick Road pattern and her quilting career took off. Along the way, she discovered applique`, both hand and machine, paper piecing, small pieces quilts and Saturday Samplers. She worked part time at Country Traditions even teaching classes.  Les as served as President of the Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild and served on the steering committee.  Her quilts will provide you with inspiration and motivation to start and/or finish your projects.

Prairie Piecemakers has 120 active members.  They host activities scheduled throughout the year with regular meetings August through April.  You are invited to attend meetings and activities.  We invite you to become a member of Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Guild.  Guild members are from many communities near Fremont including Arlington, Cedar Bluffs, Omaha, Elkhorn, Blair, Bennington, Valley, Yutan, Hooper, Ames, Union and West Point.
