The Pender Football Team won 60-36 at Homer Friday night.
Jeff’s Game Recap:
The Pendragons led 28-7 after one before the Knights won the 2nd quarter 16-12 to make it a 40-23 game at halftime. Both teams scored 13 points in the 3rd quarter, and Pender led 53-36 at the end of three. The Pendragons added 7 points in the 4th quarter. Owen Kneifl ran the ball 23 times for 179 yards and scored 5 TD’s. Alex Roth was 7-9 passing for 104 yards and a TD. Trevor Trimble had 9 carries for 63 yards and a TD, and also hauled in 4 passes for 68 yards and a TD. Pender had 354 yards of total offense, including 250 rushing. The defense gave up 269 yards of total offense, including 190 passing.
Jeff’s GACC Preview:
Pender (4-1) hosts GACC (5-0) Friday night in action that will be aired on Classic Country KTIC. The Bluejays won 54-19 at Wakefield last week in action that was aired on 107.9 the Bull. Head Coach Cody Volk says the Bluejays are for real.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with pregame at 6:30.
Jeff’s Take on the Contest:
This should be a very good game. Hard hitting and physical in nature. I look for both teams to get after one another and make it an all out slugfest. It could come down to one big play at the end to win the game. It should be a great game as advertised between these two. The game should live up to its billing and hype there’s no doubt about that.
