Nebraska Democratic Party Submits Freedom of Information Act Request to Governor Pillen’s Office Related to Former Senator Geist and Immediate Replacement Senator Carolyn Bosn
April 11th, 2023 | Nebraska Democratic Party

LINCOLN, NE – The Nebraska Democratic Party officially submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to Governor Pillen’s office:

The Nebraska Democratic Party (NDP) submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to Governor Pillen’s office to provide transparency around the recent and sudden resignation of former Senator Suzanne Geist and the same-day appointment of Senator Carolyn Bosn.

We are all too familiar with the financial influence the Ricketts and Peed family have on Nebraska elections. This Geist/Bosn swap is just another example of the ultra-rich in the state attempting to consolidate their power in the Lincoln Mayoral Elections and Nebraska Legislature.

The NDP stands firm against this meddling and growing assault on our state’s democracy. Our working families deserve more than Republican Party political nepotism.

We, therefore, request transparency into the communications and dealings leading up to the Geist/Bosn swap.
