COLUMBUS, GA. – The Midland softball team lost 2-0 to Marian in the first round of the NAIA World Series Thursday morning at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Georgia.
Marian took a 1-0 lead in the third inning and added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to record the 2-0 victory.
Midland recorded five hits in the contest compared to Marian’s four.
Roni Foote and Alexis Page each collected a double for the Warriors.
Aliyah Rincon took the pitching loss for Midland, throwing six innings while allowing the two runs on four hits with three walks and eight strike outs.
The Warriors are now 39-14 on the season and fall to the elimination bracket.
Midland will play Science & Arts (Okla.) on Friday at noon.
