Memphis SRA partially reopens after flooding

Memphis SRA partially reopens after flooding
May 23rd, 2024 | Nebraska Game and Parks Commission

Memphis State Recreation Area in Saunders County has reopened to public access, although parts of the park remain closed due to flooding earlier in the week.

Flood waters have receded enough to open roads through the campground, where the electrical sites will be available. Those pedestals were not damaged by flooding. Half of the basic sites, which do not offer electricity, still are flooded and closed.

The boat ramp remains closed as it still is flooded.

Staff will continue to evaluate the area as waters recede, then update the status of the SRA.
