Carlos Lopez of the Charger football team picked up Week Two GPAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his dominant performance in the 15-10 win over the Tigers of Doane last Saturday.
Lopez, a senior defensive tackle from Placerville, California, was a disruptive force in the Tiger’s backfield all Saturday long. Lopez tallied a team-high 12 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three sacks.
His three-sack performance is tied for second most in a single game for the Blue and Gold.
The Chargers will hit the road again this Saturday, as they take on the Broncos of Hastings in Hastings, Nebraska.
