The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Football Team upset Omaha Concordia 17-14 on the road Friday night thanks to a Brooke Ziepke game-winning field goal.

Jeff’s Game Recap:

The Raiders led 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter before the Mustangs put up 7 points in the 2nd quarter to tie the game at 7 at halftime. LVSS blanked Omaha Concordia 7-0 in the 3rd quarter to extend their lead to 14-7 at the end of the third quarter. The Mustangs won the 4th quarter 7-3. Josh Egbers had 16 carries for 206 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Smith made 9 tackles while Egbers and Jayden Wobken totaled 7 apiece. The Raiders had 322 yards of total offense, 296 coming on the ground. The defense gave up 260 yards of total offense. Head Coach Todd Ekart says it was a great win.

Talk about a job well done for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. They overcame a lot of adversity and had that next man up mentality in this one.

Jeff’s Fort Calhoun Preview:

Logan View/Scribner-Snyder (2-3) hosts Fort Calhoun (4-1) Friday night. The Pioneers won 27-3 at home over Elkhorn Mount Michael last week. Ekart says they’re the real deal.

We’ll find out just how good the Raiders are as Fort Calhoun is a very, very good team.

Jeff’s Take on the Contest:

This should be a great game between these two teams. I think Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is out to prove that they are for real, which I think they are. The Pioneers are substantially better than the Mustangs, but the Raiders have been improving each and every week, and I don’t look for this Friday’s game to be any different. I look for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder to push and challenge Fort Calhoun.
