GACC Volleyball 2-2 in last four matches

The GACC Volleyball Team won 3-1 at home over Battle Creek last Tuesday night before winning 2-1 over Wisner-Pilger, but losing 2-0 to Lutheran High Northeast at the Wisner-Pilger Triangular Thursday night. GACC was then swept 3-0 at Pierce Tuesday night.

Jeff’s Battle Creek Recap:

GACC won set one 25-11 and set two 25-17 before losing set three 25-17 and then winning set four 25-22. Bailey Gerths had 14 kills and 33 digs while Hailey Kreikemeier totaled 14 kills and 17 digs. Juli Ridder notched 12 kills while Izzy Kreikemeier had 15 digs. Tia Strehle tallied 13 digs while Emma Cohee registered 8 digs and 38 set assists.

Jeff’s Wisner-Pilger Recap:

The Gators won set one 25-20 before the Bluejays took set two 25-22 and set three 25-18. Ridder had 11 kills while Gerths posted 10 kills and 15 digs. Hailey Kreikemeier added 8 digs and 20 digs while Strehle and Izzy Kreikemeier recorded 17 and 14 digs, respectively. Cohee dished out 35 set assists.

Jeff’s LHNE Recap:

The Eagles won set one 25-17 and set two 25-22. Izzy Kreikemeier had 12 digs while Strehle and Hailey Kreikemeier posted 11 and 7, respectively. Cohee compiled 13 set assists.

Pierce Recap:

Pierce won set one 25-16 and sets two and three 25-20. Gerths had 8 digs.

Jeff’s Crofton Preview:

GACC (13-10) takes on Crofton (17-5) on the road Thursday night. The Warriors won 2-0 over Creighton in the Knox County Tournament in Wausa Tuesday night.

Jeff’s Take on the Match:

This is going to be a tough match for the Bluejays. But it’s one GACC is more than capable of winning. The Bluejays have won some big matches this season and really been impressive at times and then other times they lose matches that make you scratch your head. GACC is a tough team to figure out so it really depends on which team shows up Thursday night as to how the Bluejays do.
