BISMARCK, N.D. — For the fourth time this season and the eighth time in her BU career, junior Katie Cunningham has been earned North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week honors for her performances in the Bruins’ four-game series at Mayville State University.
Cunningham continued her dominant performance in the circle as she went 2-0 on the week without giving up a run. She struck out 12 in 11 innings pitched and did not issue a walk.
In the first game of the series, Cunningham allowed four hits while striking out nine Comets in the complete-game 1-0 shutout. She followed that up with three strikeouts in four innings pitched while allowing just one hit in BU’s 3-1 win over MSU.
In the latest NSAA statistics, Cunningham leads the league in wins (12), strikeouts (81), and ERA (1.67).
Bellevue will head to Forest City, Iowa, on April 13-14 for a four-game conference series at Waldorf University.
