Omaha, Neb. — For just the second time in program history, the Creighton Women’s Basketball team is ranked in the final Associated Press poll of the season. Jim Flanery‘s Bluejays were voted 24th in today’s poll, one spot down from a week ago despite not playing since March 10th.

The program’s only other team to finish the year ranked in the AP poll came in 1991-92, when Creighton was 21st during a season in which it finished 28-4.

The new poll marks the 16th consecutive week that Creighton (25-5) has been ranked in the AP poll, and 18th time in 20 polls this season. That comes after having been ranked just 13 weeks combined in program history entering the season.

Two BIG EAST teams remain in the AP Poll as Connecticut (29-5) leads the conference at No. 10, while the Bluejays are at No. 24.

In the final NET ranking of the regular-season released by the NCAA, Creighton remained No. 24. The Bluejays are also 20th in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, which will have one more poll at the end of the postseason.
