Creighton Women’s Basketball Players earn All-Big East Honors

Omaha, Neb. — Creighton Women’s Basketball’s trio of Lauren Jensen (Lakeville, Minn.), Morgan Maly (Crete, Neb.) and Emma Ronsiek (Sioux Falls, S.D.) each collected individual honors when the All-BIG EAST squads were announced on Thursday, March 2.

Jensen and Maly collected All-BIG EAST First Team honors, while Ronsiek earned All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention.

Entering the the BIG EAST Tournament Jensen leads Creighton in scoring with 440 overall points (15.7 ppg) and 302 in conference play (15.1 ppg). The Minnesota native has led the Bluejays in scoring eight times this season, including a career-high 30 points in a season opening win over No. 23 South Dakota State (79-68) on November 7. Jensen has reached double figures in 25 of Creighton’s 27 contests.

Creighton’s second leading scorer both overall (15.5 ppg) and in BIG EAST action (14.8), Maly has 435 points overall and 296 in conference action. Morgan has led the Bluejays in scoring in 11 games and is the team leader with 67 treys. The 2021-22 BIG EAST Sixth Woman of the Year, Maly has started every game this season, shooting 46.6% from the field (162-of-348). Maly is also the Bluejays’ leading rebounder with 171 on the season (6.1 rpg) and 120 in conference (6.0 rpg)

A three-time All-BIG EAST honoree, Ronsiek has delivered 352 points this season (12.6 ppg) and 245 in conference games (12.3 ppg). The Bluejays’ center has knocked down 42 three-pointers this season and is third on the team with 80 assists. Ronsiek is shooting 47.2% from the field in conference action (93-of-197) and leads Creighton from the free-throw line at 83.3% (50-of-60).

The Bluejays open play in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament on Saturday, March 4 in the final game of the Quarterfinals. The third-seed, Creighton will face either No. 6 Seton Hall or No. 11 Xavier in a game scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. (CT). Xavier and Seton Hall will meet in a First Round game on Friday, March 3 at 3:00 p.m. (CT).
