OMAHA, Neb. — Ava Martin had a match-high 15 kills and hit .467 to lead the sixth-ranked Creighton Volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Xavier on Friday night inside D.J. Sokol Arena. Scores of the Bluejay victory were 25-14, 25-19, 25-19.

In addition to Martin’s big night, Kendra Wait had 37 assists and 10 digs while Norah Sis notched 12 digs and nine digs for the Bluejays, who played without an injured Elise GoetzingerMaddy Bilinovic added 18 digs and two aces, Alivia Hausmann matched her season-high with three aces, and Cincinnati native Sydney Breissinger owned 10 digs, an ace and her second career kill against her hometown team. The Bluejays hit .342 and finished wirth 49 kills, 59 digs, nine aces and 7.5 blocks.

Xavier was led by 10 kills and 12 digs by Emma Grace, in addition to 15 digs by libero Lucia Corsaro. The Musketeers had 31 kills, 46 digs, six blocks and four aces on .173 hitting.

CU returns to the court on Sunday at 1 p.m. when it hosts DePaul in the program’s 17th Annual Pink Out match.
