When it comes to consistency, Jackson Lunn seems to have it all figured out.

The Whitecourt, Alberta native has won the bareback riding at every single college rodeo this fall. His efforts have helped the Mid-Plains Community College Men’s Team claim two championship titles and three runner-up finishes.

He attributes much of his success to hard work and good horses.

“I get on the bucking machine every night, go to the gym three times a week, and run 4-5 miles every evening,” said Lunn. “The horses [I’ve drawn] have come out straight and their bucking has been consistent.”

The Canadian cowboy says he was persuaded to come to the states by MPCC Head Rodeo Coach, Aukai Kaai.

“Being a part of the team is very awesome and I’m very thankful for Aukai,” Lunn noted. “He has always made me look forward and keep my head in the game.”

Lunn leads the Great Plains Region standings with 745 points, 355 points ahead of Seth Berg of Bismarck State College in second place.

With one college rodeo left of the fall season and a full roster of spring rodeos in the queue, Lunn has his eyes set on the College National Finals Rodeo.

“My goals are to make it back to the CNFR and make it in the top 10 this year,” Lunn said with excitement.

Lunn and the MPCC Rodeo Team will be back in action this weekend for the final fall college rodeo October 18-19 in Bismarck, North Dakota.
