The Clarkson/Leigh Football Team trampled Madison at home Friday night, winning 84-26.

Jeff’s Game Recap:

The Patriots led 32-14 at the end of the 1st quarter, and outscored the Dragons 32-6 in the 2nd quarter to take a 64-20 lead into the locker room. Clarkson/Leigh won the 3rd quarter 8-6 to go up 72-26 at the end of three. The Patriots blanked Madison 12-0 in the 4th quarter. Tucker Matthies had 226 yards rushing on 10 carries and 4 TD’s while Wyatt Crosley had 9 carries for 89 yards and 3 TD’s. Jeryn Struebing added 85 yards rushing on 2 carries for two touchdowns while Ben Rodenburg carried the ball 4 times for 53 yards and scored once. Blake Loseke and Hunter Gall made 7 tackles apiece. The Patriots had 493 yards rushing.

Jeff’s Humphrey-Lindsay Preview:

Clarkson/Leigh (2-3) takes on Humphrey-Lindsay (3-2) on the road Friday night. The Bulldogs won 26-12 at home over Newman Grove/St. Edward last week.

Jeff’s Take on the Contest:

I think the Patriots win this one handily. Humphrey-Lindsay hasn’t really beaten anyone and their win over Madison was 54-22. Clarkson/Leigh’s was more impressive, and those are the two reasons I like the Patriots in this one. I really feel like the Patriots are on a collision course to play David City for the District Title to end the regular season. That will be a great game, but Clarkson/Leigh has to focus on beating Humphrey-Lindsay first.
