The Central Community College volleyball team defeated Southeast Community College 3-0 on Wednesday night at Raider Fieldhouse.

The first set was very one-sided, with our Raiders pull getting the definitive win 25-13. Second set was a little more even, seeing the Raiders edge out a 25-19 set win, to go up 2-0. CCC was met with some adversity in the 3rd set, with it being the closest set of the match. The Raiders still were able to close it 25-23, despite the late push from Southeast. This makes 6 sweeps out of the Raider’s 9 wins.

Lauryn Scott had a team-high 11 kills, 3 assisted blocks and 1 solo. Libbie Ball amassed for a whopping 48 assists, and Maleigha Johnson accounted for 22 digs.

“Our team played with great energy and really controlled the first set off of serve.” Head Coach Mary Young said, “We executed well on both sides of the ball and that shows with our ball distribution and balance of our hitters.   We held our composure in the third set and I was proud of our grit to finish the match in a sweep.”

The Raiders are back in action this Friday at Western Iowa Tech CC.
