All agenda items are for discussion and action will be taken as
deemed appropriate. The City Council reserves the right to go
into closed session in accordance with Section 84-1410.

PRESENT COUNCIL

A. CALL TO ORDER

  1. Call meeting to order.
  2. Inform the public that the Open Meetings Act is posted on
    the west wall of the room.
  3. Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of
    America.
  4. Roll Call.
    B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES of previous meeting held on November 1,
    2022.
    C. CURRENT BUSINESS:
  5. Accept the Certificate of Election as prepared by the
    Cuming County Clerk/Election Commissioner in regard to
    the newly elected Mayor and Councilmembers.

D. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES:

  1. Ordinance: Fixing the salaries of the Mayor and members of
    the City Council of the City of West Point, Nebraska (third
    & final reading).

  1. City appointed boards and commissions:
    (a) Parks and Recreation Board: reappointment of Kathy
    Mahannah and Bonnie Kreikemeier (3 year terms).
    (b) LB 840 Economic Development Citizens Advisory Review
    Committee: reappointment of Dave Knievel and Austin
    Havranek; and appointment of Aaron Brockmann (4 year
    terms).
  2. Fire & rescue departments – accept the resignation of
    Daniel Rodriguez from the West Point Volunteer Fire Dept.
  3. Treasurer’s report.
  4. Claims.
  5. Authorize Annual Employee Holiday Bonus ($125.00).
    D. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
  6. Application of BB Gas LLC d/b/a PetroMart, 226 S. Lincoln
    St., West Point, Nebraska, for a Class DK liquor license.

E. BIDS: None.
F. CURRENT BUSINESS:

  1. Consider 2022-2023 General Insurance Coverage for
    property/liability/auto/workers compensation/etc.
  2. Subdivision of real estate requesting to split a tract of
    land in Lot 3, Block 105, in the City of West Point, also
    known as being in David Neligh’s Addition to the City of
    West Point (David Knievel, applicant)
  3. Approval of Annual Maintenance Agreement with the Nebraska
    Department of Transportation.
  4. Appointment of representative from the City to the Cuming
    County Economic Development Board.
  5. Special Designated Liquor Licenses for Assumption of the
    Blessed Virgin Mary (St. Mary’s Church) for a Cornhole
    Tournament on Friday, January 6, 2023.
  6. Approval of council affiliated claims:
    (a)Hugo Plumbing & Heating for services and supplies.
    (b)Tom Swenson Advertising for promotional items.

G. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES:

  1. Resolution: Approving the subdivision of a tract of land in

Lot 3, Block 105, in the City of West Point, also known as
being in David Neligh’s Addition to the City of West Point.

  1. Resolution: Approve Application/Payment #1 to Christiansen
    Construction Company for the West Point Aquatic Center
    Project in the amount of $139,966.34.
