Viola L. Kreikemeier age 88 of West Point, NE passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, NE.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 28, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE with Fr. James Weeder as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Nielsen Community Center. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a public Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Viola Lillian Kreikemeier was born on October 7, 1934 to Ben J. and Katherine (Eusterbrock) Knust on the family farm near Howells, NE.  She graduated from Howells High School in 1952.

On September 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Kreikemeier at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells, NE.  The couple farmed east of Snyder, raising crops, cattle and hogs. Mom was a jack of all trades. She ran tractors, treated sorted and shipped cattle.
She also provided all meals that were necessary to keep all the men fed.
Talents include sewing clothes for her family.
This included leisure jackets for the boys.
Viola was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder, where she sang in the church choir, taught CCD, and was a teacher’s aide Snyder public school.
She was the Snyder correspondent for the West Point news.
Both Viola and  Joe enjoyed traveling to many destinations. Both foreign and abroad.
Her Favorite things to do included square dances, boating, bowling, steak fry’s with friends and time spent with family and Friends.
She also was a charter member to the Modern Belles club.
In 1995, they retired from farming to a new home they built in West Point, NE and became members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
In retirement,  Viola’s second wind included landscaping, and attending her yard
 She also worked at the West Point Garden Center.  She enjoyed bowling, traveling, and playing Bingo. Viola was an American Red Cross Blood Donor and was recognized for 40 years of donations.
She was a member of Snyder VFW Auxiliary Post #8439 and had served as secretary.

Daughter-Joleen (Bob) Renner of West Point, NE and family-Sandra (Steve) Peaslee and children-Noah, Olive, and Gabe, Brian Renner and son-Clyde, Michael (Vicky) Renner and children-Trevor, Tanner, Taylie, Sebastian, Danielle and Mateo, Christopher (Gladys) Renner and children-Logan, Esther and daughter Alora, Fedrico, and Adriel; Son-Steven Kreikemeier (deceased) and his family-Katrina (Ricardo) Poupolo and children-Blake and Lila, Tyler (Jessica) Kreikemeier and children-Brynne, Claire, and Hank Steven, Nathan (Taylor) Kreikemeier and daughter-Raylee; Daughter-Vicki (Randy) Hasemann of North Bend, NE and family-Kyndra Hasemann and Mike Tassat and son-Henry, Mallory (Mathew) Hollman and children-Emberly and Axten, Spenser Hasemann and Kayla Reichlinger; Daughter-Judy (Bill) Luebbert of West Point, NE and family-Megan (Jeromy) Beed and children-Brock, Harper and Marshall, Sarah (Adam) Strehle and children-Jax, Eli, Kye, and Ava, Jodie (Josh) Persson and children-Liam and Evelyn; Son-Tim (LaVone) Kreikemeier of Snyder, NE; Son-Matt (Carol) Kreikemeier of Snyder, NE and family-Nick (Alyssa) Kreikemeier and children-Kameron and Khloe, Jessica (Craig) Eikmeier and children-Kyler and Chett, Dillion (Tori) Kreikemeier and children-Eli and Jameson.
