Funeral services for Trudy E. Jones age 71 of Hastings, NE formerly of West Point, NE will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE. A luncheon will follow at the Nielsen Community Center with interment in the Ridge Cemetery in Fremont, NE. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE.
Trudy passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, NE.
Trudy Elizabeth was born on December 6, 1952 in Fremont, NE to Elmer and Hope (Carlstrom) Hass. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont, NE. Trudy graduated from Fremont High School and received her B.A. in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She taught at Beemer Public Schools. She married Rodney L’Heureux and to this union two children, Brent and Jenny, were born.
Trudy later was the secretary at Peet’s Feed and Midwest Diesel in Beemer, and Supplier’s Inc. in West Point, NE. Trudy obtained her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Wayne State College. She worked for Northeast Community College as the Director of the New Beginnings Program.
On July 5, 1994, she married Robert (Bob) Jones in Victoria, British Columbia. Trudy enjoyed spending time with friends, neighbors and beloved Boston Terriers, Manny and Charlie Waffles, as well as traveling with Bob on many vacations and business trips. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas, lighting up her home for all to enjoy.
After Bob passed away, she moved to Hastings, NE to be closer to family. She was always someone her children could go to for advice, love and comfort and they will greatly miss their phone calls and catching up with her in person. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she found great joy in hearing about their adventures and accomplishments.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents-Elmer and Hope Hass, husband-Bob Jones, and brother-Roger Hass.
