Geraldine Hagedorn, 90, of West Point, NE passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Franciscan Healthcare in West Point, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE with Fr. James Weeder as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the GA Cafeteria. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, there will be a Christian Mother’s/Guild Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a public Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE.
Geraldine Elizabeth Rolf was born to John and Elizabeth (Drueke) Rolf on November 17, 1932. She received her Catholic education through the 8th grade at St. Charles Catholic School and her high school education at Notre Dame in Omaha, graduating in May of 1950.
Geraldine was united in marriage to Leonard Hagedorn on October 30, 1951 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church-St. Charles, NE.
Geraldine was a hard-working farm wife. She loved to cook and bake and helped feed many people through her jobs at Bud’s Tap & Grill, the Neligh House, and St. Joseph’s Retirement Community. She particularly loved baking cookies, which were favorites with her family. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, especially her roses and geraniums and loved a clean flower bed.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, its Ladies Guild, and Christian Mother’s. Geraldine loved spending time with her husband and family and enjoyed feeding them whenever possible.
