Elaine M. Throener age 79 of Beemer, NE passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City, IA. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, NE with Fr. Vincent Sunguti as celebrant. Private family burial will be in the St. Michael’s Cemetery in West Point, NE. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., the rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point is assisting the family.
Elaine Marie Throener was born January 19, 1944 at West Point, NE to Henry and Agnes (Beck) Aschoff. She attended Guardian Angels School and graduated from Guardian Angels High School in 1962.
On May 9, 1964, she was united in marriage to Vincent Throener at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point, NE. The couple farmed near Snyder, NE before moving to West Point in the 1970’s. Elaine worked as a CAN and in housekeeping at the West Point Living Center and at Wimmer’s Meat Products for many years. In 2007, the couple moved to Beemer, NE. Elaine most recently worked at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer, NE.
Elaine was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Beemer, NE. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, watching Husker football, traveling, and had even participated in a half marathon.
