Brian L. Priestley, 56, of Ainsworth, formerly of West Point, died Monday, July 22, 2024 at Brown County Hospital in Ainsworth. Visitation with family receiving friends will be Thursday, July 25 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Hoch Funeral Home in Ainsworth.

Visitation will continue with family receiving friends on Friday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Stokely Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral Service will be 10:30am on Saturday, July 27 at Stokely Funeral Home with Rev. John Gierke officiating. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery with lunch following at the West Point Fire and Rescue Station. Memorials may be made to Ainsworth Fire and Rescue Department or West Point Rescue Department. Brian Priestley was born on November 12, 1967 to LeRoy and Ronda (Smith) Priestley in Fremont. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1986. With a passion for hands-on work and precision, he pursued further education at Southeast Community College in Milford, studying welding and manufacturing. His expertise led him to Bassett, where he contributed his talents to Reliable Welding.

On October 1, 1992, Brian married Norma Goodwin in Fremont. The couple later moved to West Point, where Brian worked alongside his parents and grandparents on the family farm while raising their three children.

For 28 years, Brian served as a dedicated member of the West Point Rescue Department, demonstrating his volunteer spirit and compassion. His contributions extended to the Critical Incident Stress Management Program, where he offered support and guidance for 14 years, helping his fellow community members navigate challenging times.

Brian’s life was enriched by his love for the outdoors, particularly hunting, and his joy in watching his children excel in their sports endeavors. In 2022, he and Norma relocated to Ainsworth, where they continued to build memories together.

Brian is survived by his wife, Norma; daughter, Erin Priestley (Jackie Lugo) of Hastings; sons, Brandon of Ainsworth and Devon of Sioux City; and 3 grand pups, Lucy, Sammy, and Mac. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
