Women in Ag: Peden transitions from no farming experience to full-time farmer
April 6th, 2021 | Alex Voichoskie

Deb Peden did not grow up on a farm. Now, she farms full time with her husband.

It wasn’t until Deb met her husband, Cody, that she became familiar with the agriculture industry.

“And when the opportunity came to come home and work on the farm, I decided to join the ag business at River Rock Farms,” she said.

Deb said her husband played a big role by teaching her how to run equipment. She also took courses to learn how to manage the farm’s bookkeeping.

Peden encourages young people in agriculture to take advantage of learning opportunities, including schooling and training courses.

Learn more about Deb’s story in this week’s Women in Agriculture series.
