Danielle Wray of Ord, Nebraska took home the win in the breakaway roping at the Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

“Everything went right,” said Wray.

She posted a time of 2.4 seconds in the final performance to seal the win and propel herself into the top ten in the Badlands Circuit standings.

In addition to making headlines this past weekend, one of Wray’s family horses has been in the news quite frequently.

No. 415, a horse Wray’s family raised and trained, was recently purchased by Nebraska Volleyball Head Coach John Cook.

“We put John on 415 on a whim so he could feel what a good horse feels like,” said Wray. “I’d say that John fell in love with him, but I’m not so sure that 415 doesn’t like it just as much.”
