August 1st, 2024 | Rebel Sjeklocha

Rocking Plus Rodeo Company’s Nebraska’s Roughest Rodeo Series has been underway all summer. The series serves as a unique opportunity for roughstock riders to hone in on their skills and compete for competitive prize money.

Events in the series feature bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding. So far, the series has made stops across the state in Hastings, Bassett, Grant, Albion, and Greeley.

“The series has showcased 66 different contestants throughout the summer,” said stock contractor Justin Boots. “We’ve had a good following of cowboys.”

The series will culminate with its finals August 17th in Clearwater, Nebraska. The event will take place at the Gene Snodgrass Arena and feature 10-time PRCA Clown of the Year, Justin Rumford. Winners of each event will take home $4,000 in added prize money.

The calcutta will begin at 7pm with the roughstock challenge to begin at 7:30pm. Admission to the event is cash only and $10 per person. Live music from The Bald and the Beautiful will begin after the completion of the event.
