The Nebraska High School Rodeo Association recently announced the hiring of a new secretary, Jill Austin of Valentine.

The announcement comes as the board voted to merge two part-time secretarial positions into one, more full-time role.

“This move creates a single point of contact for the association members for both entry and membership questions,” said Jason Ohm, Association President.

Austin brings 15 years of experience in rodeo association management and leadership as the Mid-States Rodeo Association Secretary. In addition to taking over the tasks of the membership and entry positions, Austin will also be taking a more active role with sponsor development and retention.

Beyond years of rodeo experience, Austin also cares deeply about NEHSRA members.

“I have a big place in my heart for these young adults. They are our next generation,” Austin said.

The NEHSRA spring season will kick off April 20-21st at the Kiplinger Arena in McCook.
