The Nebraska Auctioneers Association is returning with a live in person convention in 2021 and includes the famous state auctioneer contest. Scott Jarman, Vice President of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association, is chairman of the contest and is looking forward to a friendly and fun competition.

Jarman, in an exclusive interview with the Rural Radio Network, highlighted that the competition will be conducted in 2 rounds. The first round all contestants will be selling 3 item. Then the top ten will be called back for interview questions from the judges and get to sell 2 more items. Jarman explains that judges are looking for a competitor that has salesmanship, eye contact, bid control, quality and rhythm of chant.

The competition is open to anyone who is a member of the Nebraska Auctioneers Association and that includes auctioneers who may not reside in Nebraska. With that Jarman expects a strong turnout and good competition in the contest. The State Champion will be eligble to compete in the National Association of Auctioneers contest at the national convention later in the year. State champs also receive a belt buckle and cash prize.
