CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Gabriele Canavati tallied 20 kills and the Western Nebraska Community College volleyball needed five sets to best Laramie County Community College Tuesday night in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
The Cougars captured their fourth straight win with a 25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 19-25, 15-11 win over the Golden Eagles to move to 7-3 on the season.
Canavati led the hitting attack for the Cougars with 20 kills followed by 10 kills from Leslie Mamai-Lagafuaina with 10. Luisa Beining also tallied nine kills while Karen Cordero had seven and La’Treva Kennedy getting five. Olivia Schaub finished with two kills.
Olivia Transafiguracion finished with 44 set assists in the win.
Mamai-Lagafuaina had four solo blocks and four assist blocks, while Cordero recorded two solo blocks and three ace serves. Ana Costas and Anabelle Gillen each had two aces.
WNCC will be off until next Tuesday when they have their season opener against Eastern Wyoming College beginning at 7 p.m. at Cougar Palace.
