Briar Cliff women’s basketball head coach Mike Power has announced the signing of Jayde Barto to his 2020-21 team. Barto is currently a senior at Kingsley-Pierson High School looking ahead to her final season as a Panther.

“We welcome Jayde to the family and we are excited to have her talent and athletic ability in our program,” said Power. “She is going to do great things for us and we cannot wait to get her on the court next year!”

Barto has earned numerous basketball awards, including all-conference and all-region honors. As a freshman, she was named honorable mention all-conference and picked up second-team honors as a sophomore. In her junior season, Barto was named first-team all-conference and second-team all-state. She was also named to the all-region team and all-Northwest Iowa second team. In track and field her relay team took first in the sprint medley and third in the 4×400 at the state meet.

Barto is the daughter of Scott and Nichole Fettig. She plans to major in elementary education at the Cliff.
