York City Council Meeting, Discussions on Pedestrian Crosswalk

YORK- Last night (Thursday) the community of York hosted their City Council Meeting. A major discussion was a potential pedestrian crossing issue on the corner of 12th Street and Maine. This intersection has been looked at as a dangerous intersection for crossing as the Holthus Field House is in that area, after school it is busy, and also it is a direct route to the pool and the ball fields. Chief of Police Ed Tjaden was on hand and said that this is a simple fix for right now.

A crosswalk will be painted and then further measures could be taken.

Other Agenda items from Thursday night’s meeting of note included:

– Hearing regarding current Downtown Revitalization Program
-Approve Application for $445,000 for continuing the implementation of the Downtown Revitalization Program – Resolution 2019-14.
