Quiet Zone Project May Not be Completed by Thanksgiving

YORK- The York City Council met last Thursday and one topic that was of major discussion was the completion of the quite zone. During the previous meeting on September 19th, it was stated that the quiet zone would be completed by Thanksgiving. But, a legal counsel with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad could not find any historic easements with the city at those particular crossings. York City Manager Joe Frei says that a special meeting may have to be held for not recognizing easements. Frei did say that the construction team will continue working. Mayor Barry Redfern said the consulting team for the quiet zone project will look into the issue as well.
